When I was in senior high school, I visited Bali island with my friends. We were very happy because it was our first visit to Bali island. We went there by three buses. We went from our school at 1 p.m and at 3 a.m. we reached Ketapang port in East Java. We waited the ship to pass the sea. After our bus got into the ship, we got off from the bus to the passengers place on the second floor of the ship. It was not long time to reach Bali island, it was only about an hour. We reached Gilimanuk port at about 4 a.m. and then we stopped at the mosque to pray. After praying, we went to our first destination. In the evening, we went to the hotel in Denpasar to rest. The hotel is very comfortable and so quiet. Afrer enjoying the dinner, we went to our room to take a rest.

At the next day, we continued to visit some places. On that day, we visited Kuta beach, Sanur beach, Garuda Wisnu Kencana, Kintamani, and Joger. We were also watched the kecak dance show. In the evening we went to our hotel and enjoyed the dinner, then we enjoyed the Arak Bali that was bought by my friends in Kintamani. At the last day, wen went to Sangih and Bedugul. Bedugul was the last place that we were visited, so we bought souvenirs there. Then we went back to Jogja afer three days there.

A Nice Place to Play

My favorite place when I was child was river. It lies on the eastern side of my village near my house. It is not too large and also not too small. It is just about 7 meters wide in average. Then why did I like river when I was child? It was because I especially, and my friends in elementary school loved fishing. After school, we went to our favorite place to fish in the river. The location that we loved for fishing was in the southern side of the bridge. It was a nice place because there were some big trees in the bank of the river that protected us from sunray. I often took a position near a nig stone when I was fishing because the water flew slowly. On that time the water was still free from any pollutant so that the water was clean and still had many kind of fishes.

Other reason why I did I like river as my favorite place was because I loved swimming. After fishing, I and my friends often swam near the place for fishing. The place for swimming was a little bit to the south of from the place for fishing. On that side, the river was rather deep and there were sands in the bottom so we would feel comfort when we were swimming.

Climbing Merapi Mountain

I have many unforgetable experiences, one of them is my experience in climbing Merapi mountain with my friends. Merapi is the second highest mountain in Java Island of Indonesian archipelago after Bromo mountain. It was about 4 p.m when I and some 20 friends left our basecamp to go to Merapi mountain. I didn’t remember when it happened, but I think it just when I was in the early of the third class of Senior high school. We brought some equipment that were needed, food and drink.

We arrived at Bebeng, the slope of Merapi mountain, at about 5 p.m. Then we took a rest before we went to Merapi. At about 8 p.m we had already to continue our adventure. Then we began to walk. If I am not wrong there are three posts in Merapi before we reach the Eagle peak, the peak of Merapi. We reached the first post at about 10.30 p.m. We were very tired and took a rest for about an hour. We met many other climbers and some of them made a camp fire since there was very cold. Then we continued to go to the second post. The route to the second is more difficult than before. We reached the second post at 1 a.m. Some of us got sleep since they were very tired. We felt very tired as if we had no power to continue the climbing anymore, but we had to go on. At about 2 a.m we continued to the third post. The way to the third post was grassy and narrow, and made it more difficullt to be passed. After struggled very hard, finally we could reached the third post at about 4 a.m. we had a rest and cooked some instant noodles since we were very hungry.

It was almost bright when we finished our breakfast and continued to the peak. The route to the peak is extremely hard. There are no plants anymore from the third post because it just stones. Then we started to climb to the eagle peak one by one. We had to be careful because it is very dangerous if we are careless. I didn’t know how far we climbed, but it was still too far to the peak. Finally some of us could reached the peak at about 10 a.m, I was one of them, and some others couldn’t go up anymore since they were very tired. What a beautiful sight we had seen. I think it is the most beautiful sight I ever seen. We could see the peak of Merapi from just about 500 metres far. We could also see the clouds below, our position was higher than clouds. We got many amazing photos. After about an hour we went down.
